These black kettle-like things in #twinpeaks season 3. Sure, one of them has a connection to agent Jeffries, but they also appear elsewhere, e.g. the one making noises and another with a switch, and a roomful of them. Lynch said it is not a kettle, just a machine. People try to name things to understand them. However, there are things which look ominous and speak to the unconscious, the rationally incomprehensible. Therefore, these remind a bit of the monolith in 2001: A space odyssey.

Remembering David Lynch by rewatching Twin Peaks since I saw it 35 years ago.
It was absorbing back then, but I’m absolutely in love with it now. Every character is fascinating. Every scene beautifully filmed. I’ve bought the sound track.
I want to live in an amber log cabin made of knotty Douglas fir, drink damn good coffee (and hot!), and eat the best pie I’ve ever tasted while listening to everyone’s story.
It’s not even a slow burn. It’s a slow f***.
