It's excruciating to watch Adolescence as a parent. Therefore, it's very, very necessary.

Here is my brief take on why Adolescence rocked me to the core. I wish all our children all the best.

SharanAdolescence: Healthy dose of fear for better parentingI watched a show called Adolescence. It made me want to puke and hug my child at the same time, preferably not to puke on her

“My childhood was full of it and being able to represent where I’m from is integral to me. Too often I’ll watch stuff and think they’re treating the working class like an art project. It’s very condescending. ‘Ooh, look at the poor!’ But I’m proud to be this mixed-race working-class kid from a block of flats.”

The Guardian · Stephen Graham: the ‘working-class, mixed-race kid’ who cares deeply about the workBy Lanre Bakare

"Adolescence," a four-part miniseries with each episode filmed in a single shot, landed on Netflix last week and is already one of the most talked-about and well-reviewed shows of the year. @BritishGQ looks at its gripping script, nuanced storytelling, superlative acting, and what it says about social media, incel culture and misogyny. "'Adolescence' might be fiction, but it's a sobering reminder of a very real threat posed in the social media age, when unchecked algorithms push sexist firebrands onto the For You pages of kids up and down the country: online prejudice can have terrifying real-life consequences."
