Shining a light on the *real* Nigel Farage - Britain’s wannabe Hitler!

Priest Is Defrocked After Mimicking Elon Musk’s Nazi-Like Salute at Anti-Abortion Rally
It seems Saturday’s National Pro-Life Summit in Washington, D.C.
—where Vice President JD Vance told the women of America to get pregnant right now
—was even more wretched than we thought.
#Calvin #Robinson, who used to be a priest at an Anglican Catholic Church parish in Michigan, also spoke on Saturday.
Earlier this week, Robinson,
a prominent far-right commentator who moved from the U.K. in 2024,
posted a short clip of himself delivering his closing remarks at the anti-abortion rally
-- by imitating Elon Musk’s Inauguration Day salute, which very obviously resembles a Nazi salute.
The clip went viral after Right Wing Watch reposted it,
and widespread public outrage on Wednesday prompted the church to remove Robinson’s license.

Elon Musk turns on Nigel Farage and calls for new leader of Reform
"President" Musk has called for Nigel Farage to be replaced as Reform UK leader
hours after Farage described the billionaire businessman as “a hero”,
in what is likely to be a preview of how a chaotic Donald Trump could affect British politics.
Farage, who is also the de facto owner of Reform, “doesn’t have what it takes”,
Musk said on X, the social media platform he owns, less than three weeks after the pair held seemingly warm talks at Trump’s Florida home. “The Reform party needs a new leader,” he wrote.
Musk, 53, who has sent a mass of largely misleading posts in recent days about a series of aspects of UK politics, appeared to endorse #Rupert #Lowe, the Great Yarmouth MP, as a possible replacement, saying statements he had read from Lowe “make a lot of sense”.
Later, Lowe backed Farage, posting on X:
“Nigel is leader of Reform. He made Brexit happen, and for that I will always be grateful.
“I look forward to working with Nigel and the entire team to continue to hold this incompetent Labour party to account, democratise our own party, win the next election and form a Reform government.”
The sudden change of heart from Musk is highly embarrassing for Farage,
who had just spent much of a TV interview earlier on Sunday refusing to condemn the businessman for inflammatory comments about Keir Starmer and Jess Phillips,
including calling the latter a “rape genocide apologist”.
Farage, 60, indicated Musk’s statement could be connected to a disagreement about #Tommy #Robinson,
the jailed far-right anti-Islam agitator whom Musk has characterised as a political prisoner,
but whom Farage condemns.
“Well, this is a surprise!” Farage wrote on X after Musk’s tweet.
“Elon is a remarkable individual but on this I am afraid I disagree.
My view remains that Tommy Robinson is not right for Reform and I never sell out my principles.”
Kaikesta huolimatta.

Trio of US-based professors win Nobel economics prize for work on post-colonial wealth
Three US-based professors, including two UK-born academics, have been awarded this year’s Nobel prize in economics,
for showing how the political and economic systems introduced by colonisers can determine whether a country is rich or poor today.
The explanation put forward by Turkish-American Daron #Acemoğlu, Sheffield-born Simon #Johnson and Briton James A #Robinson,
suggests that inclusive institutions set up for the long-term benefit of European migrants ended up resulting in more prosperous societies in the long term.
However, they found that in countries where the aim was to exploit the Indigenous population and extract resources for the colonisers’ benefit,
the impact has been detrimental, and resulted in far poorer societies, leaving some countries trapped in low economic growth cycles.

Speaking at a rally in Mint Hill, North Carolina,
Donald #Trump avoided mentioning embattled GOP gubernatorial candidate #Mark #Robinson,
despite the ongoing controversy surrounding him

#Mark #Robinson, the Republican nominee for governor of North Carolina who described himself as a “#black #NAZI” on a porn website, also wrote a comment
-- defending Irish actor Jonathan Rhys Meyers’ use of the #Nword during a drunken outburst in 2010.
The comment reads, “A drunken Irishman says n----r.
What’s next? Bears that crap in the woods?! Get over it people.”

It's a bit of a surprise that #Trump doesn't want to brag about his association with #MarkRobinson who is "a #porn site user who once argued for the reinstatement of slavery, detailed an affair with his wife’s sister and called himself a “black #NAZI.”
...The state #Republican Party stuck by #Robinson, but #GOP presidential nominee #DonaldTrump has distanced himself"

Republican voters knew #Mark #Robinson was a bad man when they chose him.
Now they know he is a very bad man.
Yet North Carolina Republicans are doubling down.
Robinson has denied that the newly surfaced posts are his
— but without addressing any of the evidence showing that the postings match screen names he’s used, match his email address and match key biographical details.
️To the G.O.P., the real problem was the report, not the facts.
The party issued a statement saying that “the Left can try to smear” Robinson “all they want” and “demonize him via personal attacks.”
What makes the situation all the more grievous is that Robinson is running as an outspoken evangelical.
One of his spokesmen, Mike Lonergan, has described him as “very bold and outspoken about his Christian faith.”
Both parties are vulnerable to nominating or electing the occasional crank,
but Donald Trump’s ascendance meant that a crank leads the party,
and the best way to join with him is to imitate him.
That’s how you get a Mark #Robinson, or a Marjorie Taylor #Greene, or a Lauren #Boebert, or a Matt #Gaetz.
The list goes on.
That’s how leaders change institutions.
They make them into images of themselves.
In this case, Trump has done so explicitly. Almost all the worst figures in the Republican Party have ridden Trump endorsements to the top of their local pyramids.
Robinson received Trump’s endorsement and swamped his primary opposition.
Trump even called him “Martin Luther King on steroids.”
The lesson is simple: If you want more Mark Robinsons, vote for Donald Trump.
It’s possible that the Republican Party is simply too far gone, at least for now.
A primary electorate that chooses Robinson over more reasonable candidates by 45 points
— and a party that blames “the left” for revealing that he’s even worse than anyone knew
— does not seem ready to change.
But unless and until the Republican Party reverses course
and purges MAGA from the party every bit as thoroughly as it has purged Reaganism,
American politics will remain unstable.
A coalition of decency
(who could ever imagine Nancy Pelosi and Dick Cheney voting for the same candidate?)
will have to continue to set aside profound differences for a larger purpose: defending the American Republic against MAGA’s nihilistic rage.
Hey, it's Josh Stein here.
I'm sure you've seen the news coverage surrounding my extremist opponent,
#Mark #Robinson.
CNN reported on Thursday that they uncovered posts where he had called himself
a "#black #Nazi,"
said "Slavery is not bad," and
mocked a woman who said she was raped.
Just as many of you were, I was appalled and outraged by these comments.
But here's the bottom line:
Mark Robinson is still the GOP nominee,
and he's who we're up against on Election Day.
Over the next 45 days, we have to hit the campaign trail harder than ever.
The stakes have never been higher
- and I need you to stand with me until the very end.
Can I count on you?

Let's get the job done,
Josh
It turns out, #Mark #Robinson still hasn’t done enough to turn off Donald Trump️

"the same email address that #Robinson used for the #porn website was found registered on #AshleyMadison, a website used to arrange extramarital affairs...
CNN... said it was only publishing a “small portion of Robinson’s comments on the website given their #graphic nature.” In one instance, the outlet said it was omitting “graphic sexual details” as it described how Robinson fondly remembered “peeping” on #women in public showers as a teenager."
" #MarkRobinson, the #Republican nominee for governor in #NorthCarolina... comments he made on a pornographic website’s message board...
#Robinson had called himself a “black #NAZI!” on the forum in 2010 and voiced support for bringing back #slavery the same year. Robinson, who has expressed hostility toward #transgender people in his #campaign, also said on the message board that he liked to watch transgender pornography."
https://www.washingtonpost.com/elections/2024/09/19/mark-robinson-north-carolina-governor/
The Trump-endorsed candidate in North Carolina’s gubernatorial race could soon lose his spot on the ticket due to an in-house ouster.
North Carolina Lieutenant Governor #Mark #Robinson is a Hitler-quoting, gay-bashing, conspiracy-touting antisemite, and has drawn immediate comparisons to Donald #Trump for his bombastic orations and loyal GOP following, along with his own laundry list of controversies.
On Thursday, a bombshell CNN report revealed that Robinson had written on a pornography website’s message board about his desire to own slaves, his peeping in women’s locker rooms, and his enjoyment of transgender porn.
The comments were made long before Robinson entered electoral politics.
CNN connected the account to Robinson via a “litany” of common biographical details and a shared email address.
He also used his full name on his site account.
“I like watching tranny on girl porn! That’s f*cking hot! It takes the man out while leaving the man in!” Robinson wrote in one comment on the site, Nude Africa. “And yeah I’m a ‘perv’ too!”
Robinson repeatedly denied any connection to the account, instead telling CNN in an interview that the story amounted to “salacious tabloid lies.”
The story was initially leaked to CNN, as well as local Raleigh news outlet WRAL, by Robinson’s opponent, Attorney General Josh Stein, the Carolina Journal reported.
In light of the story, the Trump campaign reportedly told Robinson that he was no longer welcome to attend rallies for either candidate on the Republican presidential ticket, according to an anonymous source that spoke with the Journal.
Robinson had been scheduled to appear at a rally for J.D. Vance on Wednesday but backed out after his office announced Robinson had fallen ill.
But despite growing pressure to back out
—which included calls from local Republican strategists for Robinson to exit in order to save Trump’s chances in the battleground state
—Robinson released a video statement ahead of the CNN report announcing his intention to stay in the critical race.
“Let me reassure you the things that you will see in that story are not the words of Mark Robinson,” Robinson said. “You know my words, you know my character, and you know that I have been completely transparent in this race and before.”
That butts Robinson up against the deadline to withdraw from the race: Thursday evening.
If he does exit, the North Carolina Republican Party Executive Committee would be required to choose a replacement candidate
—less than 50 days before the election.
The scandal is an unusual test of mettle for the exceedingly controversial politico.
Robinson has shared a host of his disturbing positions online, including posts in which he minimized the horrors of the Holocaust,
claimed a “satanic marxist” had made the movie Black Panther to pull “shekels” out of Black audiences,
likened women getting abortions to murderers,
and derided gay people as “filth” and “maggots.”
Robinson has also expressed archaic views about women’s role in society, telling a Charlotte-area church in 2022 that Christians are “called to be led by men.”
Robinson has also suggested that “schools wouldn’t be getting shot up” if Christian teachings were forced into the classroom,
and told a congregation at Asbury Baptist Church that public schools had taken a “nosedive” since mandatory prayer had been excised from curriculums
