Continued thread

Just read about this pretty awesome project, View IIc, a wireless Remote Desktop solution for the Apple //c. The hardware uses an ESP32 and plugs into the //c's RGB port, sending the 14MHz video bitstream to a Windows PC.

This is a work-in-progress by Mike Neil (who calls its current status alpha), and I'm excited to see how this evolves.

The link is to his Facebook post, but is readable without being logged in.

Very cool!!

Looking for some opinions on “Best" remote desktop software for Linux.

Wanting to run a headless workstation for my ham radio gear which will be used for all the usual things you would use a computer for, notably animated content (scrolling graphic charts, regular movement, occasional video).

*EDIT* Update: I should qualify this to say there should be an iPadOS client available, as this is what I would be accessing the workstation from

Past experiences have found VNC was not great at this, particularly at higher resolutions, so no VNC suggestions please :)

Ok, quick question for all the #blind #Mac users, if I may ask something so obvious. I am trying to set up a Macbook from my Windows PC. I want to use my Windows keyboard to control it and want, though this is a bit looser as a requirement, to hear sound from the Mac. I don't want to use RIM for both financial and security reasons, I want a straight network connection between my PC and Mac, both are on the same IP V4 subnet. Do I have any options? Is Apple Remote desktop accessible and will I be able to issue all VO commands with it? Is there anything else? Is there an RDP server for the Mac which works with Vo? I know this is too much to ask but is there some sort of server to have the remote functions of Jaws or NVDA interact with the Mac? While I'm dreaming, is there any hope for remote braille? Thanks very much to anyone who reads this, and boosts would be very gratefully received. #screenreader #remotedesktop #a11y #jaws #nvda #remote
