I generally enjoy the #RadioCaroline #topfifteen as a way to get the day going - but this morning the selection is seriously depressing!
I suppose it makes a change from the usual guitar riffs.

(No - I haven't submitted my top 15 because I could only find about 6 tracks in the list of permitted albums).

So - I'm going in the garden to listen to the pigeons and dig holes for hydrangeas!

#Coomber PA #radio #cassette recorder arrived today - it has a 8" twin cone speaker (originally intended for #school assembly halls), tape deck still works and a bonus is preset #MW tuner has not just 693 and 909 KHz but 648 KHz (BBC World Service) so its perfect for #RadioCaroline

#sound is mono and not quite hifi (there's a bit of hiss), but a decent amount of volume.

Will make aux input cable for it tomorrow when my DIN plugs arrive (haven't soldered one for 30+ years!)

FlickrThe booty comes backFollowing the raid on the radioship Ross Revenge by the OCD and other Dutch authorities in August 1989, all seized items were stored at Domeinen Roerende Zaken in Bleiswijk which is near Rotterdam. Years later, negotiations took place involving Peter Moore from Caroline, Martin Raumer from the OCD, who commanded the raid, and mediator Herbert Visser. By 1992, these discussions led to the return of the confiscated items to the Caroline organization, on the condition that they would not pursue further legal action against the Dutch government. Regarding the transportation of the equipment back to Dover, where the Ross Revenge was moored at the time, a truck was rented at SMC's expense. This cost was covered by the Media Communications Foundation using proceeds from sales, which included the CD "The Legend Still Lives On."
