In 2018, a record with the wrong signature was resolved correctly on more than 50% of the probes.

In the meantime, the number of #RIPE Atlas probes active in .pl has probably decreased, and only well-maintained probes remain active, so the test is likely a bit skewed toward apparent spreading of DNSSEC deployment since neglected networks are less represented now. This means that networks that might still have poor #DNSSEC validation could now be underrepresented. #RIPE_NCC

Despite “EU Data residency” I feel @ripencc should make provisions to withdraw from us based cloud services altogether in leu of on premise or fully European based cloud solutions, giving the rapidly chancing geopolitics and the purported allegiance of the US tech billionaires to Trump’s MAGA movement… ripe.net/publications/document #RIPE #RIPENCC

@fosdem I was asked privately for the "how", and figured a public reply makes sense

ripe.net/publications/docs/rip is the policy.

Fun fact: The extra time around an event used to be 7 days, and this was distilled pain as I had to chase #FOSDEM #BGP upstreams to update sessions, filters, etc and usually needed to escalate through to last level support

Before automation and the Cloud, a new #BGP announcement took days to weeks by default

So I got the #RIPE policy changed and extended to 1 month :)

One way to reduce climate change is to use less energy. Common ideas for doing this are improving energy efficiency, limiting growth, and degrowth.

But efforts to increase efficiency or limit growth by themselves result in using MORE energy at the global scale. This thread explains why and argues for decarbonization of energy instead. (Hint: Jevons Paradox is just the beginning.)

Thanks to the #RIPE #Green #Tech #Hackathon organized by @becha for making me write this analysis.
