new song today! OR: in which Rachel goes full darkwave. this is also maybe the second time that I've put my voice at the center of a longer song. I don't really know who I'm channeling on vocals here, exactly - maybe my best attempt at David Gahan with a touch of Tim Bowness? idk 😂

Apparently today is #MusiciansDay? That's cool.

If you'd like an #introduction to my music, here's my most popular song. :)

I tend toward retro-tinged #FolkMusic, but my tastes are eclectic, and I hope it shows. Themes of #MentalHealth, #politics, and #spirituality come up often in my songs.

I love connecting with other #queer, #trans, #disabled, #MixedRace, and kind folks here, so please reach out!

My third Bleeding Obvious album 'Dirty Blonde' is released on 17 Nov, available on most digital platforms together with limited-edition CD and vinyl releases.

Presales start next Tue 1 Oct at shop.bleedingobvious.uk/

I'm privileged to be joined by over 40 other musicians and spoken voices, plus London's lesbian band The Advantages and barbershop group Barberfellas.

I really hope you enjoy it.
Love,
Jessie. x

it's the first #BandcampFriday in a long time, and that means I get to remind everyone that I make electronic music!

I currently have two full-length albums and an EP out, and while all three are priced at a low ($1 each) barrier of entry, I'd love it if you paid more for them if you enjoy the things that come out of my weird little brain!

Had to satisfy myself yesterday that a venue really is a safe space as billed; I haven't had to do that since the 2019 tour when we changed a venue cos the original place had far-right 'debate' evenings on the calendar.

We're OK in this case but make no mistake, I *will* pull or move a gig if I don't deem a venue 100% safe for a diverse queer audience 😤

It's out! "Liberate My Soul" is available now on Bandcamp!

I've been working very hard on this song. I sincerely think it's one of the best songs I've ever done. It's a groovy psychedelic powerpop song.

The background:
A special release for Pride 2024, "Liberate My Soul" is a song about my struggles with queer self-acceptance and trying to overcome that struggle. And how self-acceptance is the only path to ever feeling free and liberating my soul from darkness.

In other words, you should totally check it out!

Aritst: Chelsea Wolfe (she/her)

Why? Her music captures this amazing tension between delicate and powerful that holds one in the place of unresolved liminality. Not to mention, one of the few artists who has really coalesced what I want most from goth music.

Where to start?

Her latest album is brilliant.

"House of Self-Undoing" is probably one of the best songs to start with, being a great example of delicate possibility riding waves of intensity.

My other favorite song is probably "The Liminal," as it hits the feels of being a genderqueer and neurodivergent weirdo that lives in liminality.

hi, everyone! while I post quite a bit about other topics, my real passion is making electronic music! I don't confine myself to any sort of box, and anything I've released typically changes genres from track to track. that said, my main influences include electro-industrial, synthwave, instrumental hip-hop, dance-rock, sound collage, the more psychedelic end of prog-rock, and spoken-word artists like Kae Tempest and Laurie Anderson.

at this time, I have three releases available on my Bandcamp:

nonbinaural is my debut full-length, mostly featuring tracks composed while I was recovering from some pretty heavy trauma in 2022. despite the circumstances surrounding the music, others have called it an expression of trans joy - which I guess it is, in retrospect 😂

eclipse is an EP released in between the two full albums that consists of material that's darker, more experimental, and more spoken-word-heavy than nonbinaural.

the ghost fetish is my most recent release, having just dropped on March 1. contrasting with the previous two, it's a mostly instrumental album, touching primarily upon themes of anxiety and climate catastrophe.

all three can be had for just $1 each, so please toss me a few bucks if you enjoy the listen! your purchase not only includes unlimited lossless downloads, but also (for the latter two releases) purchaser-exclusive bonus tracks!
