I want to talk about how difficult it is to register for a working #PeerTube account. My videos were removed from tchncs and I was banned, for reasons I can't fathom. Go see my pinned videos. But then I created an account on another site, but it went under. So now I have a third, a partial solution.
Going to joinpeertube to find video hosting is a nightmare. It gives a list of hosts, most of which don't even allow new registrations.
This is a problem.
If you publish videos on PeerTube, it lets you organise them in two ways: your account and your channels.
An account shows everything that the person has uploaded all in one place. Channels are sub-divisions of the account, and show only some of the account's videos.
For example, the account @mrfunkedude has its videos subdivided into a cooking channel @baking, a short video channel @mrfunkedude_sfv and a philosophy channel @mrfunkedudes_place
HOWEVER... there's a catch 
On most Fediverse servers outside PeerTube the videos will appear to all come from the same account rather than any channels. The channels can be followed, but the videos will only show the account's name, not the channel's.
If you are using PeerTube channels to organise your videos, bear this in mind.
If you need to keep PeerTube videos completely separate, it may be better to use separate PeerTube accounts rather than relying on channels.
If you're watching a PeerTube video, you can access subtitles (if it has any) by clicking the cog 
icon and selecting "subtitles/cc", then the language you want.

You may need to press play to get the cog icon to appear.
Subtitles are normally done manually and added as files by the person uploading the video.
PeerTube admins may also want to try an unofficial transcription plugin which adds automatically generated subtitles. More info about the plugin at:

The PeerTube instance https://tilvids.com has some of the best videos on the Fediverse, but at the end of last year a freak software bug in PeerTube broke a lot (maybe most?) of its follows from Mastodon etc.
However, the bug has been fixed in the latest version of PeerTube! 
Unfortunately, the existing broken follows are still broken and need to be fixed manually.
To fix these broken follows, all current followers should unfollow Tilvids accounts, wait a short while and then refollow them. (NOTE: This needs to be done even if it looks like the follows are already working ok. Follows that are broken due to this bug don't look broken 
).
New followers don't need to do anything special, totally new follows made after the bug was fixed should work fine first time.

You can also follow accounts from PeerTube through Mastodon, just click on "subscribe" within PeerTube. You can also subscribe via RSS if you prefer.
Did you know you can follow PeerTube channels, accounts and pages through RSS?
1. Go to the account, channel or page you want to subscribe to on PeerTube
2. Click on the "subscribe" button on the page you want
3. Select "RSS"
4. Alternatively, click on the RSS logo and select the format you want (RSS, atom, json).
Another thing to make clear:
You can like or comment on a PeerTube video within Mastodon by interacting with that video's post. Comments and likes on a video post in Mastodon appear automatically below the video itself on PeerTube.
However... other people's posts with the same video embedded might look similar when viewed through Mastodon, but they are actually a totally separate thing. Comments on embedded videos will not appear below the video on PeerTube.
You can see the difference in the attached screenshots: PeerTube video posts will have the video creator's address at the top, whereas Mastodon posts with a video embedded in them will have someone else's address.
You can make a PeerTube video post appear on Mastodon etc by pasting the video's URL in the search box and then clicking on it in the results.
You can embed someone's video within your own Mastodon post by just including its URL in your text.
You don't need to have a PeerTube account to interact with PeerTube videos.
You can comment, like, share etc PeerTube videos and subscribe to PeerTube channels entirely from within Mastodon.
Just copy and paste a PeerTube video or account URL into the Mastodon search box and press enter. You will then be able to interact with it just as if it was a Mastodon post or account.
Replies to video posts in Mastodon will appear in PeerTube as comments below the videos.
Solution!

As it's part of the Fediverse, you can follow PeerTube accounts from Mastodon (PeerTube videos look like Mastodon posts when viewed through Mastodon).

If you're posting a video on PeerTube, it's a good idea to give it lots of relevant tags.
Tags on PeerTube are interpreted by Mastodon etc as hashtags, and people will be able to find your video more easily.
However, be aware that tags with spaces in them are ignored by Mastodon etc, even though PeerTube allows them.
To make sure people can find your video, only use tags without spaces. For multiple words, use CamelCase.
