@charlesgaba I know you are handling #Medicaid and the #ACA (#AffordableCareAct aka #ObamaCare ), but not many people are talking about the billions of decreases in #Medicare spending in Trump's "Big Beautiful [GOP House passed Budget] bill," which often go hand and hand, esp with #disabled people on Medicaid and #MedicaidExpansion Medicare linked state programs...

They got this linked notice from the CBO on May 20 and decided to pass it May 22.

"Today the Congressional Budget Office transmitted an estimate of the
budgetary effects of the 2025 reconciliation bill...."

"The 4 percent maximum reduction in Medicare spending would apply to
sequestration orders for years after 2026. If OMB ordered a sequestration of $230 billion for each year through 2034, the ordered "reductions in Medicare spending would increase" to about $75 billion in 2034 and would total roughly $490 billion over the 2027–2034 period."

#SCOTUS said it will review the constitutionality of a provision of the #AffordableCareAct that requires #health plans to provide no-cost #PreventiveCare, including #cancer screenings, #immunizations & #contraception, to millions.

The case puts the #law, commonly known as #Obamacare, in the crosshairs once again & follows several challenges in recent years by conservatives hoping to overturn it, as well as a landmark 2012 ruling by the justices upholding its legality.

The Washington Post · Supreme Court to hear case challenging Obamacare’s preventive coverageBy Justin Jouvenal

"Sixty-two percent of Americans say it’s the federal government’s responsibility to ensure everyone has health care coverage, a survey from Gallup found.

The figure is the highest it’s been in more than a decade. It slipped to its low of 42 percent in 2013, during the difficult rollout of the Affordable Care Act (ACA), commonly known as ObamaCare."

But what about at the CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT level? That's where things get really interesting. If you *only* include #ACA exchange coverage, there are 9 CDs where more than 20% of the TOTAL population has an exchange plan.

All 9 are in Florida.

In fact, while 6 of the 9 are represented by Dems, 3 of them--including the highest on the list--are Republican-held districts. That's right: Over 1/3 of the *entire* population of GOP Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar has #ACA coverage.

#OBAMACARE = #ACA.

“No Obamacare?” an attendee asked the speaker, invoking the term popularized by Republicans to describe the health law.

“No Obamacare,” Johnson responded. “The ACA is so deeply ingrained, we need massive reform to make this work, and we got a lot of ideas on how to do that.”
