If you are a #pilot right now and other people know you eat, sleep and breathe #aviation, there is a good chance those people will be asking you what happened with the DCA crash.

Resist the temptation to give them absolute answers. Tell them that yes, we pilots all have our theories on what happened based on our personal knowledge, who might have been at fault, etc. But until the #NTSB investigation is complete, nobody really knows. Don't try to sound like an expert.

Police said multiple agencies were involved in a search & rescue operation in the #Potomac River, which borders the airport but that there was no immediate word on casualties.

The #ReaganAirport said late on Wednesday that all takeoffs & landings had been halted & emergency personnel had responded to an aircraft incident.

The #NTSB said it was gathering more information on the incident.

@w7voa If you look at the crash position and the Naples Municipal Airport runway 23 you see that the Bombardier was aligned for landing.
The pilot reported a flameout of both engines miles before. My first shot in the dark would be to think they thought they would make it to Naples by gliding and fell short.

Let's see what #NTSB will find out. Losing both engines is quite not normal.
