It's #MushroomMonday! So check out my mum's #mushroom art!
It's difficult to explain, but these are 3-D framed pictures made out of African cotton fabrics that my mum inserts with a knife using a special craft technique from France. There is no glass on the pictures so this is very much tactile art. Handmade in her kitchen in London, each is 100% unique. https://www.etsy.com/de/listing/1690913082/mushroom-art-mushroom-gift-mushroom-wall
After a miserable summer of foraging in drought-ravaged woods, I've been finding a few gems this fall. This morning I found oyster mushrooms, frozen solid, on a tree of heaven (Ailanthus altissima) that I treated with herbicide to kill. So can't eat them, but it was great to see them. And a few weeks ago I found the nicest flush of lion's mane I've seen to date on my land. #MushroomMonday #fungi #mushroom #athensohio
