This Is My Glasgow

Love this decorated junction box on Argyle Street in the Anderston area of Glasgow. It celebrates the local Verreville and Delftfield Potteries, both established in the 18th Century, and was created by Little Book of Transfers in conjunction with the Yardworks Grid Project. I especially like the pottery-themed take on the Glasgow coat of arms on the central plate.

However, as one of Glasgow's first female councillors, she also campaigned for the provision of family planning clinics, the introduction of public washhouses, laundries, public baths, free milk for school children, child welfare centres, play areas, pensions for mothers, home helps and municipal banks. In short, she's exactly the type of person who fought to make the world a better place for everyone around her.
