Programów powoli przybywa, a ja zamieniam znane na mniej znane dla mnie – jakoś tak po prostu... Tym razem na odstrzał poszedł VLC, w jego miejsce wskoczył MPV.

So I did find a solution to this. I didn't update the question with an answer because fuck Stack Overflow. Now I just have two remaining issues.
QOpenGLWidget
that's rendering the mpv video gives me a black screen. I can use other Python/Qt OpenGL examples and they fullscreen fine, so something weird is going on with the GL rendering context for MPV. I have so little 3D background I don't know where to start with this. I might have to break down and start using Microsoft™ Github again, because that's the only place where OSS like mpv and python-mpv have any support forums. My "couldn't let it go" #ADHD project this week has been optimizing my faux #CUSeeMe webcam view for my #twitch streams and then making it more accurately emulate the original #ConnectixQuickCam:
https://github.com/morgant/CU-SeeMe-OpenBSD
Another project that has helped me better understand #ffmpeg & #lavfi, #mpv, and how to create complex filters.
Shell script that's using curl and jq to get the list of channels from @somafm, fzf to allow you to select one, and mpv to play it.
It's amazing how much I miss stats a la MPlayer in my video output overlay
How cool simple and smooth my playback arsenal has become

Organic Maps migrates repos to their own Forgejo instance, because they got blocked by GitHub, because a dev was temporarily geolocated in a US-sanctioned region:
https://alternativeto.net/news/2025/3/organic-maps-migrates-to-forgejo-due-to-github-account-blocked-by-microsoft/
(Why does GitHub have to know the geolocation of their users in the first place? But at least the Organic Maps project has the capacity to self-host, they successfully took control into their own hands.)

2/of course curiosity took the better of me so I checked what the heck was #IINA (didn't remember installing it) and it turned out it's an awesome media player based on #mpv ( iina.io, github.com/iina/iina) which I was checking ages ago and forgot about it… this time around I played a bit more…
Gonna do a bit of some gaming now.

So there are these guys who install #Arch and use #vim or #emacs and they think they are powerful #Unix gods. One such being is me myself.
I never had to reboot my computer or close the terminal to quit #neovim
But last night, I was using my #FreeBSD machine. I thought I watch a movie so I installed #mpv and upon starting it, I could not quit. The solution was powering off and rebooting my machine. Devastating, isn't it?
So dear Arch users, or #Gentoo users who think they are really geeky geeks and very brave. Give #BSDs a try :)
Just gonna play some osu and have some Arch Linux gaming fun for today
