What mouse do you use that is long lasting? I have a bin of Logitech mice with issues registering clicks.

I have cheap one and expensive ones(mx anywhere 3) and they all start having clicking issues after a year or 2.

I tried steel series, but their scroll wheel went out after a year.

Is there something out there that I don’t know about?

So it begins... #Logitech just dropped support for the OG Harmony Remote Software. I can confirm that the newer MyHarmony software is still fully functional. The list of affected devices is somewhat misleading, because there's a number of devices that work in both the old and new software, and weirdly, my device (Harmony 665) isn't even supposed to work with the older one, but is in the list of the affected devices. Honestly, I think they just listed every pre-Hub device and figured very few people would even notice. Anyway, point is if you have a couple devices that you haven't programmed in yet, I'd do so sooner rather than later.

Either way, it's only a matter of time before every Harmony becomes #ewaste and we all have to either give up on the entire concept, or find an alternative (I'm inclined to go Sony RM-AV2100/3000, or Marantz RC2000, because they're hilarious, but Sofabaton would probably be the choice for most normal people lol).

This week I completed my collection of #Logitech's "Sensa" line of ergonomic mice. These were made in Ireland of all places, rather than China like the rest of the ML38 model line, and had one of three exotic finishes - carbon fibre-effect, wood-effect, and... I'm calling that third one "damascus plastic".

These are all 3-button, 9-pin-serial mice, so difficult to use on a modern system - but I look forward to using these once my future adapter project comes to fruition. #retrocomputing

Continued thread

It seems the #Logitech Harmony site came back up but only for two more days. But if any of you are proficient in #Linux or #programming, and you can connect your Logitech software to Harmony's site, you have a short window of time to figure out what it is sending to Logitech and what it is getting back. Maybe, just maybe, it would be possible to write a program that spoofs whatever the Harmony site is sending to or from the software, or if there is some way to monitor the USB connection, maybe you could figure out how and what it communicates with the remote and write a program that does that, but sadly you only have a very limited time to do it. This would be the type of #hacking some people would enjoy but whether any such people have Harmony remotes is the question.
