The older voice actor Jonathan Joss was shot because he was gay. #johnredcorn

A Latino bigot and neighbor of Joss's was trying to kill Joss's younger husband out on their front porch. Joss was somehow able to act quickly, pushing his husband away from the line of fire. Joss was killed instead. Jonathan Joss was able to say a few words to his younger husband before he died. #MuellerSheWrote reported this the other day and it brought me to tears.

Only in Trump's America could this have happened. I will always hate Texas, Florida, Louisiana, and most every other red state and former slave state for life after all of this personal trauma (see below) and society's BS taking its toll.

No justice, no peace. Fuck cops.

Foreign press: independent.co.uk/news/world/a

Our domestic press does its best to ignore the human side of Joss and his partner as much as they can get away with:

FUCK THE SAN ANTONIO P.D. for not locking up that murderer right away, for officially denying that the murder was over homophobia, and for them not investigating the fire at Joss's house in January as an act of arson. The bias by #LEO 's against our #gay and #trans brothers, sisters, and individuals by institutions is really plain to see nowadays.

I will not ever trust the police after what they did to ME at my own house during the early summer of 2023 here in Corvallis, Oregon. American police often operate without #impunity. I'm not homosexual nor am I trans. I live alone with my kitty. I used to live with my Mom who had a serious case of Parkinson's. She died later that year. After she faked a panic attack over the phone to drive me away the police overreacted and then did not take responsibility in any way for their unprofessional, callow behavior.

There were four CPD officers. They tackled me in unison and threw me to the ground with absolutely no #provocation from me. I did not raise my voice towards them or make any unnecessary gestures. I made no other sudden movements of any kind. I was unarmed and was standing alone outside with these men in blue. My #Mom was inside. CPD did this to illegally remove me from my property. I was not charged with a crime after this incident.

The Independent · Husband of ‘King of the Hill’ actor Jonathan Joss speaks out after alleged killer Sigfredo Ceja Alvarez freed on bondBy Justin Rohrlich

"a public break between #Trump & the #FederalistSociety could create seismic #political waves. All of the current sitting right-wing justices are allies of the “sleazebag” Leo & owe their positions to him...

#Leo was also largely responsible for the Federalist Society gravy train that Justices #ClarenceThomas & #SamuelAlito rode for decades...

If Trump can turn so quickly on Leo, he could turn on the justices… and they could turn on him."

"Researchers project that active #satellites could skyrocket to 1,00,000 before stabilising, a threshold considered the 'carrying capacity' of the #LEO. This limit, where collision risks become significant, could be reached by 2050 at current launch rates. ... Scientists are urging a slowdown in launches until global regulations can address these issues.”

Many on the right have bristled at presidential power’s being constrained over the past century by two waves of administrative reform.

The first dates back to the early 20th century and the rise of the bureaucratic-regulatory state during the Progressive and New Deal eras.

The second wave emerged in the 1970s, as Congress responded to the abuses of power by Richard Nixon.

The presidency has evolved to become an office exercising general (and often passive) oversight of vast departments and agencies,
which are staffed by career civil servants who stay on across administrations.

Presidents are constrained by layers of lawyers and others determining what is allowable based on law and precedent.

This evolution came about in part because the presidency can be the office most susceptible to despotic or tyrannical rule.

That’s where the more radical critique emanating from the hard right focuses its attention.

Schmitt (who died in 1985) developed his most influential ideas during the turbulence and ineffectual governance of Germany’s Weimar Republic.

In his view, liberalism has a fatal weakness.

Its aversion to violent conflict drives it to smother intense debate with ostensibly neutral procedures that conceal the truth about the nature of politics.
