The project of a village for US citizens who decided to move to Russia for the sake of ‘traditional values’ has stopped developing due to lack of demand and support from the authorities, ‘Vot tak’ found out. The construction of a settlement for Americans fleeing from ‘liberal gender orders’ began in 2024 in the Istrinsky district of the Moscow region. The project was initiated by Tim Kirby, a 43-year-old blogger from the United States who has been living in Russia since 2006. Thirty hectares were allocated for the village. The number of people wishing to move was estimated at several thousand. However, since then, only two houses for two emigrating families have appeared on the plot. The dwellings were built according to standard designs at the expense of the immigrants themselves. At their expense and Kerby’s investment, gas, water and other communications were brought to the plots. The cost of buying a cottage with land was 15 million roubles ($165,000).

A column titled #gender was renamed #sex, and the words were also switched in the dataset title and description…Before March 5, the dataset had not been modified since it was published in 2022. As of May 1, the dataset change log, in which modifications should be tracked, is empty. The switch from gender to sex also occurred in other public health datasets, including US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (#CDC) datasets tracking global adult tobacco consumption, stroke mortality data from 2015 to 2017, and a survey of nutrition, physical activity, and obesity…The agencies involved have not issued any statements confirming or explaining these changes."
PS: If these agencies think the label change ("gender" → "sex") is significant, then they are deliberately misrepresenting the data. If they think the terms are synonymous, then why are they bothering?

“Our country is really headed in a direction away from caring about individuals, and it’s still so shocking,” an #Austin mother of a 13-year-old transgender girl told Austin Free Press.
The Austin mom, who asked not to be named, added: “I feel like I grew up in a country that was really progressive and supportive of human rights, and we were so proud of everything we had overcome, and we’ve just taken a million giant steps backwards.”
In the wake of those legal decisions, hers and other families with transgender children say they face stark choices: Forgoing care that can improve their kiddos’ mental health, reduce #gender dysphoria and suicide rates — or relocate to a state with no ban on gender-affirming care for minors, an option that many families can’t afford.
