Before covid arrived on the island, I saw/hung out with more old friends from my past sports media & event promotion work. I don't see them anymore. They are all too unsafe now.
Keith & I used to work together in the MMA/combat sports industry.
A Flashback Friday to the present: I still have my 100+ cassettes, my 200+ CDs, and my 3 working iPods with ~10,000 songs. Now I just need that compact reel-to-reel Walkman!

This is a nighttime photo of my personal bike when I worked/repped for Balfa Cycles. This model was called the Belair and it was a blend of a cross country bike and a trail bike. Really fun single pivot suspension bike with a unique shock in the top tube design (sort of borrowed a bit from a brand called Boulder Bikes). I put a lot of miles on this bike - it was light, fast, fun, nimble, tough and jumpable. I regret not getting the one size larger frame though, as again, this one was a little cramped. Oh well, I still had a blast on it for many years.

I first saw Jenny in a Kiwi band the Wide Mouthed Frogs back in 1979 when they first came on the scene (https://audioculture.co.nz/profile/wide-mouthed-frogs). They played at the local Ben Burn Park in Karori and that was the start of my Jenny Morris crush. Last saw her at Hillary’s Perth in the mid 90’s, but unfortunately her voice was affected by spasmodic dysphonia that saw the end to her singing career post 2005

One of my favorite things about taking walks around Chicago’s neighborhoods is finding vestiges of the mini-economies within — former storefronts that have been converted to housing. I squint and imagine what the corner must have been like in its heyday.

15 years ago I attended the inaugural #PembertonMusicFestival. I had so many adventures & misadventures during that music fest road trip.
I was bummed out that I didn't get a #FlamingLips giant balloon. As I was about to leave festival & shuttle back to shared Whistler hotel room, a giant white balloon flew into my face/body & I grabbed it. That's how I unexpectedly scored one of the FL balloon souvenirs
