For a long time. I came in at the very beginning of the mass #Twexodus in early 2022*, and posted a couple helpful "How to #Fediverse" kind of toots, which got boosted to the moon, somehow.
Every now and then (like maybe once a year), I tap into the #neckbeard #zeitgeist and get boosted to the moon, like hundreds of boosts.
No idea, man. I have no idea why so many people follow me.
I just toot nerdy things that make me happy, for the most part. Occasionally #USPOL stuff, but honestly pretty rarely.
* I had actually joined #fedi in late 2018, tried it out for a bit, then quit. Then I joined again in 2019, and just had it on a very slow burn while I used other networks for my primary social stuff. I went all-in to the fediverse/#Mastodon in 2022.

@SecurityWriter I don't defend this, nor anything else that @MastodonEngineering / #Mastodon #devs do, including stifling and sabotaging the need for good moderation tools.
- In return I think that the arguments pushed against the #Fediverse by (alleged) #TechIlliterates are not worth entertaining, cuz the same folks would also dismiss any alternative to #GMail cuz they'd have to 'choose a Server'....
If we can't expect #users to make informed decisions, then maybe they should not be allowed to use tech.
- Sorry for me #venting, but noone would dismiss #eMail because #mutt is not a beginner-friendly eMail client for folks that can't even use a goddamn mouse, as so many #Zoomers these days do.
I gladly teach people tech but most don't want to learn or even follow through on suggestions, advice and take explanaitions to their answers, and at a certain point that's just tiring...

Danke fuer teilen,
eventuell verfaellt man zu leicht in die Illusion der Reichweite, nur weil eine Platform sagt, man haette so und so viele Wahrnehmungen gehabt, hat man noch lange nicht jemanden erreicht.
#Fediverse baut; so meine ich; auf authentischer Kommunikation, das bedeutet wohl auch mehr Einsatz, es reicht einfach nicht etwas in die Platform zu werfen.
Im #Fediverse muessen sowohl Sender und Empfaenger aktiv sein; eine Grundvoraussetzung fuer gelungene Kommunikation.

A Mastodon Manners Tip:
When it is pointed out that you are mansplaining, or any other form of reply-guying, and you are asked to stop the annoying behaviour ( especially when done through a private message) ; then you turn to gaslighting, please stop complaining the "blocker " is unfair and "harsh".
A more positive approach is when you first are told your behaviour is not tolerable, (especially when done privately) take a deep breath, listen to the feedback from the account, or accounts, speaking with you, and take the time to evaluate your attitude and method of communication.
