The EU is on track to meet its 2030 emissions goal thanks to strong progress on renewables.

The EU is “well on track” to reach its 2030 climate targets, the European Commission said on Wednesday.

An assessment of updated National Climate and Energy Plans (NECPs) shows the EU is on course to achieve a 54% emissions reduction by 2030 - just one per cent shy of its legally binding 55% target.

Doesn't this name ring a bell? Ahh, this one:

How did they manage to stay in business? Oh, maybe they were rewarded for THE largest #reduction of #CO2 #emissions ever by a digital tool (due to the thousands of canceled flights :winkekatze: )

The news on 'positive' (reinforcing) climate feedbacks is piling up now. Less absorption of CO2 by struggling plants, more release of methane from melting permafrost, more CO2 released from warming soil, less reflection of sunlight by clouds.
The recipe remains the same simple one, but it becomes more urgent every day:
Reduce global greenhouse gas emissions to (net) zero, asap!
