I got a new car at the end of February. It's a #Volvo #EX30 and the second #EV I've owned. I'm told they are popular in Europe, but I haven't yet seen another over here in the US. I've taken it on a road trip where I drove about 620 miles one way in a day; don't know why there are reviewers saying the EX30 isn't good for such a trip. The worst part was the car complaining my hands weren't on the wheel when driving on long straight stretches of highway, which got very annoying.

The #ExecutiveOrder that #Newsom plans to sign today will direct the #California #Air Resources Board to come up w/new ways to encourage #EV use & reduce #emissions, acc/to the governor’s office. Under it, the #state would prioritize funding for EV rebates & will seek to develop new incentive programs. And it would steer state agencies to purchase fleet vehicles from manufacturers who agree to phase out new #gasoline-powered cars.

Jsou to už dva měsíce, co jsem dovezl naše první elektroauto z Německa. Obligátní test v podobě cesty od Chorvatska jsem s ním neabsolvoval, ale i tak jsem za tu dobu načerpal docela dost poznatků. Jaký je reálný dojezd a stačí v praxi? Jak funguje nabíjení na veřejných nabíječkách a jak naopak doma v kombinaci s fotovoltaikou? Jak se s elektroautem jezdí a jaké jsou jeho skutečné náklady? The #Republican-led #Congress passed the resolutions in May to reverse #Biden’s approval of #California’s #EV efforts. When signed by the president, joint resolutions revoking federal rules carry the force of #law & are not subject to #judicial review.
Even so, the move is expected to draw an immediate #legal challenge from CA, as well as an #ExecutiveOrder from Gov #GavinNewsom directing state ofcls to find another path to move the state’s drivers toward EVs & encourage companies to make them.
This guy reeeaaaallllly hates #California.

EV charging just kicked-in automatically because the general price is cheap.
Last night we made $14 selling to the grid during a price spike. Ended-up with a $10 credit for the day.
Haven't paid for an electricity bill since November

Regardless of your feelings about #EVs, it looks pretty much as though they’ve been steadily moving forward, getting more efficient, less resource-hungry and longer range since the 2000s, while any further progress on petrol/diesels probably petered out ten years ago. I know that’s not necessarily down to the tech, but there it is. I’m driving a 2020 hatchback #EV, but I’m already looking at stuff released a couple of years later which leave it in the dust.

@dangillmor I can fully understand the animosity towards #Tesla right now but ignoring #Elon: what #EV options are there with the capabilities of the #Cybertruck? In Europe there are none. In the US a handful (and still without some benefits like stainless steel). Before #Musk’s political venture, it was the number 1 selling EV truck in the US.
Now figures were still well down on Elon’s predictions, as prices were way up, but I would love to see radical approaches like this.
Combined the installation of an #EV charging port with a quick UPS test. Both operations successful. Now I just need the actual car to show up!
Love them or loathe them, electric buses are growing in numbers around the world.

4/4 I’ve always loved the idea of electric motoring. I tried to build an electric go-kart when I was a kid. I’m in no way anti-#EV. But I AM very much anti-consumerism.
I kept my last car 13 years. My youngest motorbike is 20 years old. I’ve never bought a new car.
I want an EV I can run, repair, keep on the road until I recycle the battery pack into home storage.
I guess I’m anti-growth 
Canadians are some of the richest inhabitants on planet Earth, so why are we turning into a technological backwater? More to the point, why can we not access so many of the lowercost, highquality EVs being sold to consumers in so many other countries? One issue I do have with the sat nav is around complex junctions where it can be a little confusing, mind this could be just the fact I’m use to how Apple Maps deals with them. #EV #ID3 #EVRoadTrip #ElectricTravel
The ID.3's route planner is a significant improvement compared to the Corsa’s system which I avoided using.
Last year's Finland trip? Spreadsheet planning hell. This year? I just:
• Quick check the next day's destination
• Enter it in the car in the morning
• Trust the system completely
No more pre-planning anxiety. The ID.3 just handles it.
Anyone with experience on here driving an #EV around the French Alps? Problems finding chargers? ABRP looks like it's a bit thin on the ground for fast chargers? Maybe ok for trickle charge? Trying to work out if I dare rent an EV or should l stick to ICE for now (which I really don't like..). #askFedi
