Hey DMV community:
Did anyone else catch a bright comet-like object in the sky tonight? Spotted WSW, traveling E just past 6:00, bright white rounded head, filamentous tails streaming back. Moving fast, no sound but definitely in the atmosphere at some height. Skies perfectly clear. Reminded me of rocket exhaust plume at altitude. I had no cell or camera, of course, and by the time I got back outside it was long gone.
