Dipping back into #cosmic development tonight, I've always been frustrated that for a bottom panel, the "Small" size feels too small, and the "Medium" size feels too big. I made a PR that would allow for custom panel sizes, to alleviate my frustrations.

Finally, I can have my size 48 panel the way I like it, and as a bonus, my old contribution to allow for separate sizing for different sides on the panel comes in handy making the applets on the right smaller! :)

@GossiTheDog @signalapp Fun, I wander if something similar can be done on with so I dont accidentally leak all my DMs because of missclick when using and , maybe not to the level of application always denying capture ( applications), but it would be cool to have an rejectlist in your linux to add/remove applications you explicitly dont want to be able to capture (with default values pulled from their manifest or something)

If current specification doesnt allow that, does any of the desktops like , , or thought about that?

First impressions of Cosmix Saigon, alpha 7 of Cosmic, running on NixOS, with some valuable help of the NixBook scripts.:

- Feels more complete; cannot really put my finger on it

- Challenge/response for my BT keyboard doesn't work (yet); other BT devices are just fine.

- Network discovery has improved; the NAS was recognized easily. Not as smooth as Gnome yet.

- Cosmix updated the flatpaks as intended; come Monday we'll see about the system

All in all off to a good start, I'll take the laptop to work tomorrow.

Feel it All

20th track in the Stand Alone Singles series. I’ve fought long and hard to keep finding the joy in music. Sometimes this means making nothing at all. Sometimes inspiration strikes. It took me a long time to get here, but I’m here now. It’s the new me, much like the old me but newer.

Everything done by me on this one.

It was just a matter of time. Introducing my new composable Cosmix-Saigon :birthdaymsn:

You'll find Cosmic alpha 7, on top of immutable Fedora 42, but with the Ublue goodies as well.

This Saigoneer's quite opinionated, you won't find the Cosmic store, editor or mediaplayer in there.

Follow the hints on my github page to enable Homebrew, the true Flatpak and off you go!

Fish, rewritten in Rust is included ootb.

I took the #COSMIC #Fedora Spin for a test drive on a VM. I've been using it as my daily driver for a few weeks and it's pretty feature complete. No crashes. I can change the wallpaper and toggle dark mode. I can install flatpaks and software from the repos. QT apps load and play well with the UI. I can tile windows and move them around intuitively. I already like it better than the default #Ubuntu experience. Excited to see the beta release features.
