#California now has the world’s 4th largest GDP, behind only the entire US, China, and Germany.

But on a per-capita basis, California is far ahead of the pack.

Billion$ per million people:

California: 105.1
US: 85.8
Germany: 55.3
China: 13.1

Only two countries have higher GDP/capita figures:

1. Luxembourg: 140.9
2. Ireland: 108.9

But they have *tiny* GDP compared to California.

EDIT: It appears that readers of this post perceive that I’m citing GDP per capita as a measure of median prosperity, and IT IS NOT. In fact, GDP itself is not a measure of prosperity, only a measure of how much goods and services are made available for sale (i.e. volume of “business”). So take this with the same amount of salt as when the IMF talks about a nation’s GDP. GDP is business, not happiness.

⚖️ Legal integrity alert: California Supreme Court demands answers over AI-written bar exam content 🤖📚

The State Bar of California used 23 AI-generated questions on the February bar exam — without court approval.

Here’s what’s raising eyebrows:
🚫 No transparency around content origin
🧠 No formal vetting for legal accuracy
🧑‍⚖️ Questions developed by non-lawyer consultants
📣 Supreme Court now demanding justification

This situation underscores a growing tension:
Where’s the line between AI assistance and undermining professional standards?

John Eastman, a former lawyer of Donald Trump is expected to spend the day testifying before the State Bar of California in a proceeding that could result in him losing his license to practice law in the state. He faces 11 disciplinary charges stemming from his development of a dubious legal strategy that was aimed at helping Trump remain in power by disrupting the counting of state electoral votes.
