Morayner BlacksmithJe pensais depuis un bout de temps qu’il me fallait peut-être un petit shop en ligne. Oh, pas grand-chose, il n’est certainement pas question d’en faire un métier… Mais mes expérimentations me mènent souvent à me retrouver avec plusieurs exemplaires d’un objet qui pourrait intéresser d’autres personnes, alors autant les proposer!J’ai longuement hésité entre l’ouverture d’un petit shop sur etsy et la transformation du site pour avoir une partie commerce. Etsy, c’est les marges qui sont décourageantes, <a href="https://www.bbc.com/news/business-66362229" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">et leur changement de politique récent et les grèves qu’ils ont engendrées chez les artisans</a> a un effet assez dissuasif. Ouvrir un commerce sur ce site, ça voulait dire encore plus de travail de maintenance du serveur, des risques accrus de sécurité – qui engageraient potentiellement un peu de liquidités en plus – et un grand saut dans le vide en terme de connaissances pratiques et techniques, parce que, eh bien, non, je n’y connais rien au e-commerce. Et puis à force de traîner mes guêtres dans le <a href="https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fediverse" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">fédiverse</a> , qui est une fédération de réseaux décentralisés de microbloging (pensez twitter), galerie de photo (une alternative à pinterest) plateforme musicale (du genre de soundcloud) et j’en passe, qui défendent globalement les principes de souveraineté, d’auto-gestion, d’open-source et de gratuité… Et comme des alternatives viables aux GAFAM et autres institutions numériques hégémoniques. Il fallait que tôt ou tard je tombe sur une plateforme marchande en accord avec ce genre d’idéaux communistes et communautaristes. C’est donc sur <a href="https://artisans.coop/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">artisans.coop</a> que j’ai fini par ouvrir mon shop. Le site est un pur produit des grèves d’etsy, dont quelques vendeurs se sont regroupés pour donner corps à cet idéal de commerce qui protégerait les artisans, valoriserait leur travail par une juste rémunération et les mettrait à l’abri d’être jamais malmenés et exploités comme ils ont pu l’être par l’un de ces géants du e-commerce. Un indice de ce fonctionnement est contenu dans son nom : il s’agit d’une coopérative, au sein de laquelle les artisans qui y adhèrent sont partie prenante aux décisions et contribuent au fonctionnement de la plateforme, peuvent suggérer et apporter des modifications. Cette juste répartition étant inscrite dans les statuts de l’organisation, des dérives telles que celles qui ont engendré les « etsy strikes » ne devraient pas pouvoir s’y produire.C’est un modèle qui me rappelle beaucoup ceux qu’a théorisés Chomsky, et j’ai vraiment envie de croire à leur viabilité. On verra bien ce que donne cette aventure! Ce n’est pas moi qui vais le plus contribuer à faire tourner la machine : mon stock sera alimenté quand je le pourrai, peu régulièrement, avec des objets variés et changeants : un jour il y aura un ou deux claviers, deux mois plus tard un tissu tissé main, deux mois plus tard un petit truc en bois ou un patron de couture… Mais pour que ce modèle économique alternatif, en forme d’organigramme horizontal, puisse prendre son essor et devenir pérenne, il lui faut des adhérents et des clients, donc de l’exposition.
