An 8371 Agnus for my ongoing #Amiga500 repair (I broke my last remaining one), some 18-pin narrow DIP sockets (which I lacked during my last couple of repairs, lol) and some 4MB SIMM RAM stick PCBs! This is all going to be VERY useful.

In slightly more retro repair news, I started troubleshooting another green screen #Amiga500. I got as far as seeing some messed up data lines on the oscilloscope. I suspected the RAM or the Agnus, pulled the Agnus, broke off one of the pins. Need to source a new 8371 now. Dang.

We are not yet continuing with Wonderland, but some days ago I upgraded the black A500 to 1MB of chip RAM by way of mainboard swap. And a quick session on one of the later savegames didn‘t reveal any crashes. Even with lovely graphics enabled! So this bodes well.

Amiga 500/600 – Demka nowe – całkiem, całkiem!

Released the Rev 1 of my #Amiga500 "IDE activity LED injector" adapter.

It includes a small, optional improvement that uses 3 SMD components in addition to the rest, mainly a buffer for the IDE /ACTIVITY signal: I found that, with some of my SD card adapters, the signal was low enough when inactive (active low, remember) to leave the activity LED faintly lit.

If one doesn't care, a jumper can be bridged and the additional components left out.

I could go back in time and tell my younger self it is possible to play the exact roms as in the arcades on my #Amiga500. Not inferior ports and downsized games due to diskspace, but pixel perfect original #Neogeo games like #DoubleDragon....it would have blown my mind and I would not have believed me. #Retro #emulation #arcade #coinop Next buy: a 9 pin joystick with at least 2 separate action buttons, more also okay.
