ThePfromtheO<p>"<a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/Money" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Money</span></a> is the problem. Not too little, but too much. Where there's <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/wealth" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>wealth</span></a>, there's a natural <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/human" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>human</span></a> desire to make more <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/wealth" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>wealth</span></a>. Ever since <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/Firefox" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Firefox</span></a> 1.0 in 2004, Firefox has never had to compete. You might think Mozilla would, say, buy and integrate an <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/adblocker" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>adblocker</span></a>. Other <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/browsers" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>browsers</span></a> integrate ad-blocking, and you don't even need something controversial like <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/Brave" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>Brave</span></a> – for instance, <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/VivaldiBrowser" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>VivaldiBrowser</span></a> has offered it for years. Instead, Mozilla goes and buys an <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/ad" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>ad</span></a> firm and then removes its promise not to <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/sell" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>sell</span></a> your <a href="https://social.vivaldi.net/tags/data" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>data</span></a>. stfn<p>New blog post!<br><br>This time I talk how I am blocking ads and trackers from all my devices, including mobile phones. I do that using PiHole and Tailscale, and thanks to using Tailscale the whole setup process is very simple, any device I add to my private network gets adblocking automagically.<br><br><a href="https://stfn.pl/blog/72-pihole-tailscale/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://stfn.pl/blog/72-pihole-tailscale/</a><br><br><a href="https://fedi.stfn.pl/tags/blog" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>blog</span></a> <a href="https://fedi.stfn.pl/tags/adblocking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>adblocking</span></a> <a href="https://fedi.stfn.pl/tags/tailscale" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>tailscale</span></a> <a href="https://fedi.stfn.pl/tags/pihole" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>pihole</span></a> <a href="https://fedi.stfn.pl/tags/selfhostedapps" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>selfhostedapps</span></a> <a href="https://fedi.stfn.pl/tags/selfhosted" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>selfhosted</span></a></p>
OpenTech<p>Brave Adds Custom Element Blocking on Android<br>Brave now allows Android users to block specific web page elements via a new "Block element" feature in Shields. Accessible under Advanced Controls, it lets you tap and remove unwanted content. You can manage or reset blocked items and even add custom filters via brave://settings/shields/filters.</p><p><a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/BraveBrowser" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>BraveBrowser</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/AdBlocking" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AdBlocking</span></a> <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/androidprivacy" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>androidprivacy</span></a></p>
Grzegorz Cichocki<p>I made my <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/AdGuardHome" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>AdGuardHome</span></a> configuration public. </p><p>This is my solution to both store <a href="https://mastodon.social/tags/adguard" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">#<span>adguard</span></a> conf in code and continuously deploy it on many nodes. I also proposed some solutions to easily gather metrics and switch off/on ad protection.
