There's a #house for sale in the old fishing village of Whinnyfold on the #Aberdeenshire #coast. The location, views & walks are stunning, with abundant local #wildlife including #seals and nesting #seabirds including guillemots, razorbills & kittiwakes. The #property includes a bothy with power & central heating which would make an excellent #workshop or #artist #studio.

The current owners wish to sell to full-time residents, not for it to become a holiday home.

A proper #MomentoMori from #Peterhead in #Aberdeenshire #Scotland for #TombTuesday #hauntology When I first moved to London twenty years ago, people told me the skull and crossbones on pirate ships were ‘from’ the skull & cross bones near Christopher Marlowe’s unmarked grave in Deptford. (If I had a pound for every unsubstantiated ‘fact’ ‘splained at me when I was fresh-off-the-plane, I’d be rich. Scotland’s kirkyards are chock full of these beautiful skulls & crossbones. 🏴‍☠️

This is the Vale of Alford curling pond from over the last nine days. The pond is located in Murray Park at the edge of Alford in Aberdeenshire. The pictures go from top left, which is from Friday the 10th, clockwise through the week to today. Curling was taking place on the pond last weekend for around five days in total before the thaw came in #Donside #Aberdeenshire #Scotland

Some from the last few days. The first one, the red/purple arc visible in the sky is known as a SAR. It is not part of the true Aurora but is a rare thermal phenomenon seen when Aurora activity is present. Other notable mentions in this picture, from bottom left to centre top, are Sirius, Orion, Jupiter and the Pleiades. The other two are more Aurora shots from previous nights. It is always interesting to see the different colours that the Aurora can produce #Aberdeenshire #Scotland #SAR #Aurora
