#3dprinting

An #OpenSCAD #WIP update...

So far, I've gotten to the point where I can specify mouse or trackball, then the locations and orientations of the components.

From that, the code can generate a model with supports for those components.

And I can print that to assemble the device.

Next step is modeling an enclosure.

It's aliiiive. 😁

First of all I really really need to reprint its own head though, the green pieces (printed out of PC) are partially crumbling. Going to print new parts out of ASA or ABS, the current one should still work for those print jobs. Perhaps then I finally have a stable configuration and I can consider the modding project of this old machine done. Learned a lot.

I've finally sketched what was in my head for the case design to paper. I should have some of the parts I need today at some point. Hoping I can figure out the internal structure and layout relatively quickly so I can work on the fun parts. Shout out to Noctua for having step files for their fan grill that they used on their power supply up on printables. I'm using it as the base of the brackets I made to house the case fans.

> Has to drill holes into it because it can't be fixated securely otherwise

Quality products. 🙃

(Want to prevent the damn E3D V6 Volcano I bought a few years ago to spin in its socket every time I change the nozzle)

My first full plate, multi part print was done on my printer last night in just over 4 hours. 20 Jellyfish magnets for my wife to give to her students. Not a single issue with any of the 20, it just worked. I'm very much not used to being able to reliably print on a 3D printer like this.

Next up, a Kratos (from the God of War game series) figurine to display somewhere in my office...

Omfg, I finally managed to separate the damn heatblock from the heatbrake and heat element. Looks like after a war. It doesn't have to look good though, but work. Couldn't care less about how awful it looks while doing so.
Now I just have to get the thermistor out of there so I can properly clean it from all the PETG that overflowed through those threads onto everything…
#3DPrinting

Well #3dprinting folks, it worked super well. I printed my own case for my phone as I needed one and didn't have one. Anyone know if TPU can be ironed for a smoother texture like PLA can? Other than that, I really like it and it's a functional print.

All right, #3dprinting folks. SO Orca slicer is supposed to be the *perfect* end-all slicer. We're talking God's slicer. SO good that using anything else is a disgrace, a shameful act upon the very essence of 3d printing. Tell me why then that Orca slicer doesn't have a profile for TPU nor does any other slicer? Please, let me know because TPU is a common filament that people use and Orca Slicer is supposed to have everything, right? I'm literally navigating the menus and hearing, "button, button, button" using my screen reader with literally no context on what the buttons or controls or anything is at all just because literally every single Youtuber/fellow fan of 3d printing says it's the *absolute best, hands down* slicer ever created and no one need use anything else. I'm literally sending pictures of my screen to AI to read and explain to me, (so much for privacy which is the core of 3d printing) what is going on and what menu I'm in because absolutely *none* of the controls, buttons, edit boxes, combo boxes, panels, sliders, links or any other control out there are labeled for my screen reader to do its job and actually read to me where I'm at.
Please. I need some genuine advice on what to do to find the TPU preset which you would think would be there but somehow isn't.
