#3GoodThings

1. In the past few days, my smart home setup caught multiple "this could be a problem" items *before* they actually became problems
2. Finally saw Capt America Brave New World; not a great film but I feel more caught up on the MCU generally
3. Only one meeting of any significance today, and that should be over in the next hour; get this out of the way quickly

#3GoodThings MidWeek

1. Got an email from a friend who's excited about an idea for placing me into his comic
2. Several meetings today but I don't *think* any of them should be too dreadful
3. Not a great night's sleep, but definitely better than the past several days, so I'm gonna call that a win

Tuesday, May 27🌸

1. Three pre-teen scrub jay fledglings have emerged from their oleander nest. They can fly between bushes at low levels, haven’t yet learned to screech, find bugs in the grass but are still fed by their parents. This is the 25th generation of jays to keep me company. It will be NOISY soon!
2. Hot, hot weather on its way for the first time this year (yay). I’m chanting incantations over my aging A/C compressor.
3. Sharing this video from YouTube’s “Lady Hawk” channel — a tribute to the two almost-fledged bald eagles at Big Bear, CA. Warning…potential ear worm, the Pointer Sisters’ “Jump.”

#3GoodThings for this Monday-that's-not-actually-Monday

1. Doesn't look like any major work issues exploded while I was out last week
2. Got a decent amount of work done around the house yesterday that I really didn't feel like doing
3. Tried Gale's Root Beer for the first time - tasty; I still prefer Virgil's but it's very good

#3GoodThings #Gardening

1. Both of my cherry tomato plants gave forth their first blooms! They're still very small plants but will grow to become mighty warriors of the garden. (photo attached)

2. Harvested some leaves off all six basil plants to add to a homemade pasta sauce for dinner tonight. And it's not even June, yet! Insects are attacking but they're still edible for humans. (photo attached0

3. Sweet Pea the Ewe is doing a good job guarding the snap peas. (photo attached)

Nertz -- I missed my #3GoodThings yesterday. For today...

1. New bank card arrived; no probs with my old one but a new one means it's definitely not in any data broker's records yet
2. Got a decent amount of writing done yesterday
3. Federal holiday

#3GoodThings Weekend Edition

1. New Doctor Who episode
2. The outdoor rug I cleaned yesterday looks a bit better once I put the patio furniture back on it
3. Had a good (I think) idea for a functional 3D print -- it's printing now; we'll see if it actually works in about two hours

Mid-week #3GoodThings

1. Came across a contemporary in-the-wild use of a font I designed 30 years ago
2. Finished reading Parable of the Talents yesterday - excellent book! Terrifying, but excellent!
3. Just realized we have Monday off next week for Memorial Day

#3GoodThings for today... I met a working crew who was hideously expensive, but earned every dime. They did this project with 40mph wind gusts pushing them around.

1: this 2/3 dead tree that was threatening the house is DOWN
2: nobody was hurt!
3: It might even warm up tomorrow.

Monday morning #3GoodThings

1. Started and completed a HERBIE the robot yesterday to go with my Marvel Legends figures; pleased with how it turned out
2. Pleased that my Cavorite Sphere model has been hanging up for well over a week now without breaking under its own weight
3. Should be warm enough today to do some actual yard work without melting

#3GoodThings

1. Dog woke me up ~3:30am making a lot of noise hacking but I managed to get her outside before she actually threw up
2. Started "Parable of the Talents" yesterday; only 25% through but it's incredible already
3. Fridge is fully stocked

#3GoodThings Weekend Edition

1. The massive dust storm that rolled through the area last night missed us; we got some high-ish winds but that was about it
2. New episode of Doctor Who had some nice surprise characters show up
3. Was able to wrap up some work projects yesterday in advance of being off next week (I've been rationing my PTO and I've got 12 days left to burn before the end of the fiscal year on June 30)

#3GoodThings EOW Edition

1. Finished "Justin Wack and The Big Time Hack" -- enjoyable game overall
2. Yesterday's presentation that I was anxious about went over relatively well
3. Monthly comic book order showed up yesterday; they were running about a week later than usual so I was starting to get concerned

Thursday, May 15🌸

1. Ate potato chips & ice cream for brunch (because I’m old, I can, and who cares).
2. The pink oleanders bloomed. (Pic shows about 20% of expanse - bushes are huge & fill the yard.)
3. Started my summer vacation last night by packing up my stuff & moving to the other side of the bed. I may choose a new & exotic spot on the couch, too. Grandma goes wild!

#3GoodThings for Thursday

1. Extended and entertaining discussion at work about the importance of a good hair stylist in the Star Wars universe.
2. Managed to pull together something resembling a presentation I've got this morning; wasn't sure I'd have enough time yesterday to work on it
3. It's supposed to be a very nice day today, weather-wise

#3GoodThings Mid-Week Edition

1. Andor season finale was excellent
2. New print of my skutter figure turned out much better than my previous one that had broken
3. Just saw my cameo appearance as a pirate in Pirates: A Graphic History by James Silvani
