OK, so I've now used the #3dprinting "put glue stick on your build plate for better first layer adhesion and finished print removal" trick, but the glue stick is hell to clean up.
It seems what I need is an adhesive more like post-it-note adhesive, and something like a spray-on PAM-type thing seems ideal for that.
I found 3M Scotch Spray Mount repositionable spray adhesive. Am I right that something like this would be better than an elmers glue stick? (Or is there a better glue stick I should try?)
Switches installed… Now I just have to wire it all up. #mechanicalkeyboard #mechkb #keyboard #olkb #ortholinear #cyberdeck #3dprinting #maker #diy

#ScribesAndMakers Apr 29: What is your proudest or best moment with your creative endeavor this month?
I'm quite pleased with this. I had some empty #3dPrinting filament spools lying around. I didn't want to throw them out, and they don't seem to be recyclable. So, I turned them into a carrousel of storage drawers.
Wyszło całkiem nieźle. Aczkolwiek nie wziąłem pod uwagę, jakie to będzie małe i otwory do mocowania osiek okazały się zbyt małe
My 16 yr old is having an election results watch party tonight, which includes a contest to guess the results. We printed up a Golden Beaver award on the 3D printer as a trophy. (Design from Messy_Panda on MakerWorld) #elxn45 #cdnpoli #3dprinting
Leveled up my #3dprinting with a new achievement: installed my first threaded inserts into a print.
Ever wanted a custom action figure of yourself? AI like ChatGPT can whip up the image, and *other* AI tools can then help turn that 2D concept into a 3D-printable model. From selfie to shelf figure – kinda wild, right? #AI #3Dprinting

@th How thin are the thinnest lines? Might those be 3D-printable with a 0.2mm nozzle on a multi-filament extruder, or would you need more resolution than this?

Today in #3DPrinting experiments, I'm gonna try to embed magnets into a print, by getting the print to pause at a specific layer, then insert magnets, and hit resume. No idea how well it will work.
#3dprinting supports question:
Any tips/tricks on setting up supports in a slicer such that:
a) they actually support the print
b) are not a major PITA to remove
I had to spend an hour with the cutters just to get the supports out. Often I had to tear them from the print, fearing I'd damage the 10h print.
made a new case back for this very old but not quite old enough to be interesting multimeter
(also took it apart and generally got it back in good order)
you can see the two damaged corners on the old one; what you can’t see is that it shrank differently to the front of meter plastic so couldn’t fit properly anymore
it’s close to an exact duplicate including the sloping sides, but with a textured backside and no feet nubs because those would’ve been a nightmare.
i love 3d printing <3
@quixoticgeek I don't do resin #3dprinting but it's industry standard to have sequential filters for most professional applications. As to which specifically, no idea sorry
Resin 3d printing people of the fediverse. What filters do you like for used IPA? The 100 micron filters that often come with the printer clog too fast. And coffee filters, even with a special funnel that's designed for higher throughput, is taking an age.
What do other makers use?
Zacząłem się wczoraj bawić w #Tinkercad i przygotowałem sobie coś takiego. Jestem bardzo ciekaw, jak i czy w ogóle mi to wyjdzie w druku Oczywiście nie będzie taki kolorowy. #3dprinting #prusamk4s
