#3dprinting

30 posts26 participants7 posts today

Some time ago decided to try #3DPrinting for #Food (not 3D printed food!) - with this sprouting lid for a mason jar (and stand).
Been a while since I mung beans sprouted so tried it this way now. Quite convenient, filling and emptying the jars and kept in stand draining under a box to keep light out. I let it go a bit too long at 6 days, should have stopped at 3 or 4 and perhaps less in the jar.

Our #Christiania #cargobike cover has the dumbest design (and a manufacturing error on top of that) where with the combination of wind & rain the cover material forms a dimple letting water inside the cargo area.

An additional bar mostly fixes this while not being in the way. Here's two T-connectors that snap on the existing bars to fix a new 10 mm bar in place.

Also makes it all more rigid and pretty. On #printables @ printables.com/model/1366606-1

It's possible to do some 3d printing related things on an OpenBSD machine, but there are a bunch of popular tools that aren't available in the ports tree. We will talk about some of the different classes of software and what things are popular and whether they are currently available on OpenBSD and what the blockers are from getting those into the ports tree.

After not being happy with my first Meshtastic solar node prototype I made version number 2 🥳

Instead of a frame around the solar panel I now just use some brackets at the back and attach the waterproof box directly to it.

The MPPT is set to 3,6 Volts which is fine for charging LiFePo4 batteries. I hope they will work fine with the ESP32S3, they provide a lower voltage than Li-Ion batteries.

Next: Test run for some days, build a new antenna, print mast holder 📡

I'd love some input from the #3dprinting community here. I got an issue with probably misaligned layers on my Ender 5 Plus. I replaced the brass nuts on Z but that did nothing. Belts feel reasonably tight, nothing feels wobbly. What could I try next?
