#3dprinting

OK, so I've now used the #3dprinting "put glue stick on your build plate for better first layer adhesion and finished print removal" trick, but the glue stick is hell to clean up.

It seems what I need is an adhesive more like post-it-note adhesive, and something like a spray-on PAM-type thing seems ideal for that.

I found 3M Scotch Spray Mount repositionable spray adhesive. Am I right that something like this would be better than an elmers glue stick? (Or is there a better glue stick I should try?)

#3dprinting supports question:

Any tips/tricks on setting up supports in a slicer such that:

a) they actually support the print
b) are not a major PITA to remove

I had to spend an hour with the cutters just to get the supports out. Often I had to tear them from the print, fearing I'd damage the 10h print.

made a new case back for this very old but not quite old enough to be interesting multimeter

(also took it apart and generally got it back in good order)

you can see the two damaged corners on the old one; what you can’t see is that it shrank differently to the front of meter plastic so couldn’t fit properly anymore

it’s close to an exact duplicate including the sloping sides, but with a textured backside and no feet nubs because those would’ve been a nightmare.

i love 3d printing <3

Resin 3d printing people of the fediverse. What filters do you like for used IPA? The 100 micron filters that often come with the printer clog too fast. And coffee filters, even with a special funnel that's designed for higher throughput, is taking an age.

What do other makers use?
